Rootd Ventures

A Deep Tech Micro VC for India

We back early-revenue founders building clean tech and connected deep tech for India and the world
Rootd Ventures is a micro VC, writing first cheques into early-revenue deep tech companies and partnering through long R&D and commercialization cycles

Our Investment Thesis

We are the deep tech partner who understands your long R&D cycle and the capital, patience, and ecosystem it needs
We invest in Indian companies building deep tech with a primary focus on clean tech and connected industries. We look for early-revenue teams turning hard science, engineering, or IP into defensible businesses that can scale in India and globally.

Founder Aligned Capital

Clean, standard terms built for future institutional rounds, with ₹2-5 Cr as the first institutional cheque and follow-on support in the best-performing companies.

Deep Tech & Clean Tech Expertise

Access to partners and advisors who understand long development cycles, hardware–software intersections, pilots, certifications, and the path from lab to market.

Concentrated, Hands-On Portfolio

We back only 10–15 companies in Fund I so each founding team gets meaningful time, help with GTM and hiring, and warm introductions to future capital.

& More

From time to time, we bring portfolio founders together in small cohorts around themes like GTM in industrial markets, climate regulation, or hardware supply chains.

How We Partner With Founders

We partner with founders from the first institutional round, helping with company building, hiring, go-to-market, and follow-on fundraising through our network of operators, angels, and VCs.

What we provide:

– First 100 days: Clarity on narrative, metrics, and hiring plan

– Network access: Intros to future capital, design/tech/product experts, and early customers

– Communication: Fast, clear communication, no black-box decisions

Our Investment Process

We prefer a curated, relationship-driven process over anonymous application funnels. Our goal is to move from first meeting to decision in about a month, with clear communication and no black boxes.

02

How Does This Work?

Application

We take away the friction of starting to fundraise through a 3 minute application. We reply with yes/no within 48 hours. No warm connects needed.

01

Data Driven Evaluation

If we like your application, we share a detailed form on your business. Every form is read by our partnership. The evaluation is done supported by deep data and algorithms.

02

Rapid Decision

The final – a call with the partnership. The decision is made in a week of the call, supported by extensive background diligence. We make a decision within 3 weeks of your application to us.

No warm intro required: founders can still reach us directly through our ‘Pitch Rootd’ form, but we treat every engagement as a curated conversation, not a conveyor belt.
